Dignan - The Guest

Dignan gives you the feeling of drowning in a dark, cold pond of whispery lyrics and tinkling keyboards. You slowly float the bottom with a smile on your face because it is so deep and beautiful at the same time. "Tangled Woods" is a song that quite literally makes you feel as if you are lost in a tangled woods with a quiet accordion squeezing like a far-away wolf howling in the background. "Ships" is like setting sail in a blown-up rescue raft that is slowly leaking air. It has an overall tone of despair that only increases as you reach the end of the song; however, the layered lyrics and long accordion notes give it a fluid movement until the end, where the last few bubbles of air float to the surface. This album is truly a work of art that deserves a good listen.
